Photography is a glamorous business! NOT!, since I don't have an expensive studio, and wouldn't know what to do with a studio light if I had one, here is a shot of my primitive setup.

The idea for the picture came from seeing ZipperZ's great shot of the bathing strawberries, and I thought "Hmmm, veggies, water...what can I do with that?"

The peppers are sitting on an old full length mirror, and the water comes from a shower head on a microphone stand attached to my outdoor kitchen sink.

I auditioned three different shower heads before I found the right one. Needless to say no one showered while I did this!

I shot over a hundred exposures, all at 1000 speed, and I sure wish the 707 had a 2000 speed stop, because the water is not as clear as I had hoped. Getting the water placed just right, so that it got the peppers wet,but not obscuring them was a real challenge. The whole process took about 4 hors from conception to end product. It would have taken less if my local supermarket had more photogenic peppers, and I didn't have to make a drive to a fruit stand.

Oh yeah, you'll be sad to learn of the fate of the poor , drenched peppers. These troopers made a great fajita for my family!

ADDENDUM

A few months later, I acquired a flash for my Sony camera, and decided to try the same setup to see if I could improve.
You decide!

Which I cropped to my final version below

I hope this explains it all!!
