Ok, I will now tell all. Some thought it was a fake, but now you
will all know the secret of “Coke Eruptus”.
First, I took an empty can of Coke, drilled a hole in the bottom.
I then bought a 4 ft. length of ½ inch plastic tubing, and some
silicone caulking , inserted the tube into the can, cemented it and
let it dry for 24 hours.
I then hot glued it to my trusty workmate table
My initial attempt,
I tried it with the can in an upright position,
surrounded by crushed ice. I filled it up with Publix Cola, (the
cheap stuff), took the loose end of tubing in my mouth, grabbed my
remote control, and blew through the tube while clicking the
shutter in Burst three mode.
Disaster, it looked like cr*p, the cola went straight up, and
straight down before I could get a decent shot, and the ice turned
an ugly shade of brown. I figured it would look better if I tilted
everything to a 45 degree angle, and forgot about the ice.
Replacing it after every shot would have been a real pain.
I had to light the spot where the cola came shooting out, or it
would have disappeared into the black of the background.
After a few hundred exposures, the 3 liter bottle of cola, and the
remaining 5 cans from the six pack of Coke, history was made.
I then hosed down the area, and that was that.
Thank you for your kind attention
